The North Dakota Fighting Hawks (13-15, CONF 7-7) and Nebraska Omaha Mavericks (15-14, CONF 8-6) face off in a Summit League showdown at Baxter Arena. The Mavericks knocked off the Fighting Hawks 66-62 earlier this season.
When most think of North Dakota they think of a hockey school, but this team has shown a lot of fight this season. Coming into this game North Dakota has won two of the last three games, including a big upset in their last game over NDSU.
On the road this season North Dakota has struggled on the road and the biggest issue has been with the defense giving up 80.5 points per game. The offense has been strong most of the season averaging 72.4 points per game.
The Fighting Hawks are led by Marlon Stewart who is averaging 18.1 points while shooting 44 percent from the field.
Nebraska Omaha have also had some struggles but they come into this game having won three games in a row. In the Mavericks last game they put up 93 points against Western Illinois and this is another game where they will try to push the pace.
At home this season Nebraska Omaha has an 11-2 record and the biggest reason has been because of the offense. The Mavericks are averaging 81.4 points per game while shooting 50.5 percent from the field.
Omaha is led by KJ Robinson who is averaging 15.3 while shooting 42.3 percent from the field. In Robinson’s last game he put up 18 points while shooting 40 percent from the field.
The under is 3-9 against the spread in UND’s last 12 games overall. The over is 16-7 in North Dakota’s last 23 games against the Summit League. The over is 8-1 in Nebraska Omaha’s last nine games as favorite.
UND’s defense has struggled coming into this game giving up 79 points per game and that defensive output is going to hurt them in this game. Look for plenty of scoring by Omaha, and a lot of scoring by UND trying to keep up. This game will go well over the total.
Shane’s Pick Over 152.5
