The Marist Red Foxes (7-18, CONF 6-10) and Manhattan Jaspers (11-14, CONF 7-9) face off in a Metro Atlantic Athletic conference showdown face off at Draddy Gymnasium. Marist knocked off Manhattan 75-73 in overtime in late January.
Marist have had a lot of struggles this season, but they are coming off one of their biggest wins of the season. Marist knocked off Niagara 76-54 in their last game and the hope is the defense can continue to step up going forward.
Away from home this season Marist is averaging 58.4 points per game while shooting only 37.5 percent from the field. Marist is also giving up 65.8 points per game and letting opponents shoot 41.6 percent from the field on the road.
Marist doesn’t have one player that is averaging more than ten points, but they do have five players that average more than eight points.
Manhattan comes into this game really struggling having lost four games in a row and they also failed to cover the spread in each of the games. In their last game they were the favorites against Canisius, but they were knocked off by a point.
At home this season Manhattan is averaging 67.3 points while the defense is giving up 61.3 points.
Manhattan is led by guard Tykei Greene who is averaging 10.1 points while shooting 37.4 percent from the field. Two games ago Greene dropped 21 points, and if he has a big game, they should be in great shape to come away with a victory.
Marist is 19-7 against the spread in their last 26 games played on Wednesday. Marist is 8-3 against the spread in the last 11 games overall. The under is 35-15-1 in Manhattan’s last 51 home games.
The first game between these two teams took overtime, and this is a game that is going to come down to the final possession once again. Marist have struggled this season, but they know they can find success scoring against Manhattan.
Look for Marist to cover the large number. It's also a lean to the over based on how well Marist can score against Manhattan
