The Georgia Bulldogs (13-13, CONF 3-10) and Vanderbilt Commodores (9-17, CONF 1-12) face off in an SEC showdown at the Vanderbilt Memorial Gymnasium. The home team has won the last six games played between the Bulldogs and Commodores.
The Bulldogs have been a fun team to watch this year, but that hasn’t resulted in a whole lot of wins. The Bulldogs have only won two of their last ten games, but one of those wins was in their last game against the Auburn Tigers. Georgia locked down the Tigers offense allowing only 55 points and that was enough to come away with a victory.
Away from home the Bulldogs defense has been a big issue giving up 78.8 points per game, and that will be a key x-factor in this game.
Anthony Edwards is going to be one of the top picks in the NBA draft and he is averaging 18.9 points per game.
This is a rebuilding year for the Commodores, and they have only one win over their last ten games. At home this season Vanderbilt does have a 9-8 record, but most of those wins were during non-conference play.
Over the last five games the Commodores are giving up 79.4 points and this game could very well come down to what defense finds more success.
The Commodores are 6-21-1 ATS in their last 28 games played on Saturday. The under is 8-3 in the Bulldogs last 11 Saturday games.
The under is 24-8 in Vanderbilt’s last 32 games against the SEC.
This game is going to come down to who’s defense can perform better. The more talented team is the Bulldogs and even on the road, they should find a way to get the job done. Look for the Bulldogs to win this game and cover the spread.
