The College of Charleston Cougars (15-12, CONF 9-6) and UNC Wilmington Seahawks (8-20, CONF 3-12) face off in a Colonial Athletic conference showdown at Trask Coliseum. The Seahawks knocked off the Cougars by two points earlier this season.
The Cougars have had a nice season, but they come into this game struggling having lost three games in a row. In Charleston’s last game the offense only scored 51 points and that type of offensive production needs to change going forward. Away from home this season the Cougars are averaging 70.7 points while the defense is giving up 68.6 points.
College of Charleston is led by guard Grant Riller who is averaging 21.6 points while shooting 50 percent from the field. The defense for the Cougars struggled in the first game against the Seahawks, and if they want a chance in this game, the defense is going to need to step up in a big way.
The Seahawks have had a lot of struggles this season, and over the last ten games they only have three wins.
Wilmington is a team that doesn’t score a whole lot of points, and their defense doesn’t do a whole lot. To make up for the offensive struggles. At home this season the Seahawks are averaging 64.6 points per game and the defense is giving up 69.6 points.
The Cougars are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The over is 11-5 in Charleston’s last 16 Saturday games. The road team is 7-2-1 ATS in the last ten games between the Seahawks and Cougars.
The Seahawks won the game earlier in the year against the Cougars, but this one is going to be a little different. The Seahawks offense is going to be a problem, and that will be the difference. Back the College of Charleston to win this game and cover the spread.
