The Longwood Lancers (11-17, CONF 6-9) and USC Upstate Spartans (11-16, CONF 6-8) face off in a Big South Conference showdown at the G.B.Hodge Center. The Lancers and Spartans faced off in early January, and it was USC Upstate winning 73-56.
The Lancers haven’t been great this season, and away from home they have only four wins in 15 games. The Lacers play away from home hasn’t been great because of their offense, which is shooting 38.5 percent from the field.
Overall this season Longwood is averaging 67.7 points while shooting 39.8 percent from the field. The Lancers leading scorer is Juan Munoz who is averaging 10.8 points while shooting 41.3 percent from the field
The Spartans are really struggling coming into this game having lost three of the last four games. USC Upstate has also failed to cover the spread in each of those three losses.
In the last two losses, the Spartans haven’t scored more than 57 points, and that offense is going to need to be better. At home, this season USC Upstate is averaging 72.9 points per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the field.
The Spartans are led by Everette Hammond and Tommy Bruner who are both averaging over 14 points per game.
The under is 8-2 in the Lancers last 10 games overall. The over 6-2-1 in Longwood’s last nine games Thursday. The Spartans are 8-2 ATS in their last ten home games. The over is 6-2 in USC Upstate’s last eight Thursday games.
USC Upstate dominated the Lacers earlier in the season, and that will be the case again in this one. The Spartans will run up the score, and Longwood will have no chance to keep up. Back the Spartans to win this game and cover the spread.
