The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (13-13, 6-9 CONF) and the Georgia State Panthers (17-9, 10-5 CONF) will meet on Saturday, February 15th for a Sun Belt Conference matchup at the GSU Sports Arena. The game will be played at 2:00 PM eastern time.

Coastal Carolina is coming off a road loss to Georgia Southern (79-69) in their last game. They have not been able to string together wins in conference play this season, which is represented by their 6-9 conference record. Georgia State is coming off a home win over Appalachian State by the final score of 76-65. Georgia State has now won back-to-back games after losing two straight before that.

Coastal Carolina can score the basketball, but also allows a good amount of points inversely. They have a +1.7 scoring differential this season. Coastal Carolina has scored 77.7 points per game on 44.4% FG shooting. Coastal Carolina is led by G DeVante Jones in scoring, as he averages 16.0 points per game on 46.8% FG shooting himself. Coastal Carolina allows 76.0 points per game to the opposition, which is on the higher side in terms of the conference. Coastal Carolina also earns 40.7 rebounds, 13.2 assists, 2.9 blocks, and 7.7 steals per game.

Georgia State also scores the basketball at great rates this season, but unlike Coastal Carolina, they also defend pretty well. Georgia State has a +7.8 scoring differential this season, which makes sense for a team that has great success this season. Georgia State scores 78.8 points per game on 44.3% FG shooting. Georgia State’s leading scorer is G Corey Allen who averages 14.5 points per game. Georgia State allows 71.0 points per game, which is around the conference’s average.

Coastal Carolina is 10-14 ATS this season and 3-7 ATS in their last ten games. Coastal Carolina is also 4-5 ATS on the road so far this season. Georgia State is 15-8-1 ATS this season and 6-4 ATS in their last ten games. Georgia State is also 5-4 ATS at home so far this season.

I have said this before, I think Coastal Carolina is a much better team than what their record displays. They have not played well on the road this season, but I still think they are strong enough on offense to score enough to get a cover here. I do not love it, but I will take Coastal Carolina for a sneaky cover with the 8.5 points.
