The Line: East Tennessee State Buccaneers -22.5 -- Over/Under: 150
The Citadel Bulldogs and the East Tennessee State Buccaneers meet in college basketball action from Freedom Hall Civic Center on Wednesday.
The Citadel enters this one at 6-17 on the season. The Bulldogs have lost 12 straight games, falling to Wofford, Mercer, UNC-Greensboro and VMI in their last four outings.
In the loss to the Keydets, the Citadel’s lead scorers were Derek Webster and Tyson Batiste, each with 14 points and a combined 15 rebounds and six assists. Kaiden Rice chipped in 13 points there as well.
Over on the East Tennessee State side, they’re 21-4 this year. Since last falling to Mercer, the Buccaneers have taken out UNCG, Chattanooga and Mercer in succession over the last three games.
In the win over the Bears, East Tennessee State’s Daivien Williamson led the team with 16 points and four rebounds. Tray Boyd added 15 points with four assists and three rebounds there, and Lucas N’Guessan had 13 points with six boards.
The Buccaneers are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall. East Tennessee State is 1-4 ATS in their last five at home versus a team with a losing road record and the over is 5-2 in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 Wednesday games and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine road games. The Citadel is 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven overall and the under is 4-1 in their last six overall.
The Citadel has been on the skids for quite some time, and they’re giving up points in droves. The Bulldogs have given up at least 73 points in each of their last 10 games and don’t show too many signs that they’re getting better about it.
As for East Tennessee, they shouldn’t have too many issues scoring here, as they’ve put up 73 or more in each of their last three outings. I can’t find a whole lot of reasons not to take the Buccaneers here.
