The Line: South Carolina State Bulldogs -10 -- Over/Under: 150.5
The Delaware State Hornets and the South Carolina State Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from SHM Memorial Center on Monday.
Delaware State enters this game at 3-19 overall. Since their most recent win over Coppin State on February 1, the Hornets have fallen in consecutive games to MD Eastern Shore and Norfolk State.
In the loss to the Spartans, Delaware State’s lead scorer was Myles Carter with 13 points and one assist. Johquin Wiley added 11 points, one rebound and one assist there, and Fahom Jenneto had 10 points with five boards.
Over on the South Carolina State side, they’re 9-12 this year. The Bulldogs are on a four-game losing streak right now, falling to Norfolk State, B-CU, NC Central and NC A&T in that time.
In the loss to the Aggies, South Carolina’s lead scorer was Rayshawn Neal with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Tariq Simmons was also in double-digits there with 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Bulldogs are 0-4 ATS in their last four overall and the under is 4-1 in their last four overall. SC State is 5-1 ATS in their last six as a favorite and the over is 9-3 in their last 12 road games.
Meanwhile, the Hornets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss and 2-5 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss. Delaware State is 0-4 ATS in the last four home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six overall.
Delaware state is a moderately decent scoring team this season, and they’ve hit 77 points twice in their last six games. The primary issue here is points allowed on the other side, and the 85 given up to Norfolk State in the last outing is a prime example.
South Carolina State has much of the same issues, as they’ve given up 73 or more in each of their last four games. There’s not a ton to like about this matchup, but I suppose I’m leaning toward the Bulldogs here.
