The Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks and the Coppin State Eagles meet in college basketball action from Physical Education Complex on Monday.
The Hawks come into this matchup at 3-20 on the year. The Hawks recently ended a five-game losing streak with a win over Delaware State but lost their last game to Morgan State on Saturday.
In the loss to the Bears, Maryland Eastern Shore’s Ahmad Frost led the team with 15 points, one rebound and one assist. AJ Cheeseman also finished in double-digits for the Hawks there with 10 points and five boards.
Over on the Coppin State side, they’re 7-18 this season. The Eagles are 2-2 in their last four games, beating Howard twice while otherwise falling to Delaware State and NC Central in that time.
In the loss to the Eagles, Coppin State’s Koby Thomas put up 17 points with six rebounds and two assists. Andrew Robinson added 14 points with four rebounds there, and Brendan Medley-Bacon had 15 rebounds and seven points with four assists.
Coppin State is 14-6 ATS in their last 20 Monday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six home games. The Eagles are 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 4-1 in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Hawks are 5-1 ATS in their last six Monday games and 7-16-1 ATS in their last 24 after an ATS win. MD Eastern Shore is 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss and the under is 44-21-2 in their last 67 overall.
Every once in a while, the Hawks will put up a solid offensive effort, like their 78 points versus Howard or 68 versus Delaware State. Most of the time though, MD Eastern Shore finishes in the 50s or low 60s points-wise, though.
Coppin State isn’t a great offensive team either, but they find success a little more often thanks to a decent defense and a few solid players on the roster. In any case, I like the Eagles on the cover here.
Andrew’s Pick Coppin State Eagles -10
