The Texas-Arlington Mavericks and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers meet in college basketball action from HTC Center on Saturday.
Texas-Arlington enters this one at 10-4 so far. The Mavericks are 4-2 in their last six outings, beating Louisiana, LA-Monroe (twice) and Texas State while falling to Louisiana and App State otherwise.
In the loss to the Mountaineers, Texas-Arlington’s Brian Warren led the team with 14 points and one assist. Also in double-figures for the Mavericks was David Azore with 12 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Over on the Coastal Carolina side, they’re 12-12 this year. The Chanticleers are 1-5 in their last six games, beating Arkansas State while otherwise dropping to Little Rock, Arkansas State, App State, Little Rock and Texas State.
In the loss to the Bobcats, Coastal Carolina’s Devante Jones put up 15 points with three assists and two rebounds. Malik LeGania added 11 points there, and Tommy Burton had 10 points with eight rebounds.
The Chanticleers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight Saturday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four home games. Coastal is 1-5 ATS in their last six overall and the over is 4-1 in the last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks are 13-4-1 ATS in their last 18 Saturday games and 7-3-2 ATS in their last 12 road games. The under is 4-0 in TX-Arlington’s last four overall and the over is 5-2 in their last seven Saturday games.
After a pretty good three-game scoring run, the Mavericks have cooled off on offense across their last four games, posting a max of 68 points in that span. TX-Arlington scored a relatively paltry 50 points in their last outing as well.
As for Coastal Carolina, they’ve been pretty choppy themselves, with two games in their last four at 79 points scored or above, and two with 63 or below. That said, this should be a pretty interesting matchup, and I like the Mavericks to bang out a cover.
