The UC Davis Aggies and the UC Irvine Anteaters meet in college basketball action from Bren Events Center on Thursday.
UC Davis comes in here at 9-14 so far. After dropping three straight to CSUF, Hawaii and UC Irvine, the Aggies got a win their last time out versus Cal Poly on Saturday.
In the win over the Mustangs, UC Davis’ Joe Mooney led the team on 19 points with eight rebounds. Ezra Manjon was also in double-digits there with 12 points, six assists and three rebounds.
Over on the UC Irvine side, they’re 14-9 so far. The Anteaters have won their last three straight games, taking out Cal Poly, UC Davis and CSUF during that stretch of outings.
In the win over the Titans, UC Irvine’s Tommy Rutherford (18 points) and Brad Greene (18 points; 12 rebounds) led the team in scoring. Evan Leonard added 15 points with three rebounds and two assists there.
The Anteaters are 7-0 ATS in their last seven Thursday games and 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. UC Irvine is 7-2 ATS in their last nine overall and the under is 36-15 in their last 51 Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Aggies are 9-0 ATS in their last nine road games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven Thursday games. UC Davis is 12-3 ATS in their last 15 overall and the over is 11-4 in their last 15 road games.
The last time these teams met wasn’t that long ago (January 30), and that turned out to be an 80-65 road win for UC Irvine. UC Davis has posted a combined 131 points in their last two games, and they’re going to need to do better than that here.
Considering UC Irvine has put up at least 74 points in each of their last three games, I like the Anteaters to keep going and cover fairly easily here.
