The Morehead State Eagles and the SIU Edwardsville Cougars meet in college basketball action from Vadalabene Center on Thursday.
Morehead State enters this game at 11-12 so far. Following a recent four-game losing streak, the Eagles have won their last two consecutive games versus Southeast Missouri State and TN-Martin.
In the win over the Skyhawks, Morehead State’s Jordan Walker led the way on 22 points with seven rebounds and two assists. Both Ta’Lon Cooper and Djimon Henson added 14 points apiece with a combined five rebounds and four assists there also.
Over on the SIU-Edwardsville side, they’re 5-18 this year. The Cougars have lost their last three straight games, dropping to TN-Martin, Austin Peay and Murray State in succession.
In the loss to the Racers, SIU-Edwardsville’s Tyresse Williford led the team on 22 points and three boards. Also in double-digits there was Cameron Williams with 12 points and four rebounds with one assist.
SIUE is 5-2 ATS in their last seven Thursday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. The Cougars are 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 1-4 ATS in their last five Thursday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games. Morehead State is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 overall and the under is 5-2 in the last seven overall.
Morehead’s offense took a dive during that four-game losing streak; the team failed to hit 60 points in any of those. The Eagles have been better scoring-wise over their last two however, with a combined 175 points.
As for SIU-Edwardsville, things have been tough for them over the last pair, with a combined 113 points during that time. This one might get close when it comes to the cover, but I think a revived Morehead State can power one out.
