The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks and the Idaho State Bengals meet in college basketball action from Holt Arena on Thursday.
Northern Arizona enters this game at 12-8 so far. After a five-game winning streak versus Southern Utah, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Sac State and Idaho, the Lumberjacks fell to Eastern WA their last time out.
In the loss to the Eagles, Northern Arizona’s lead scorer was Brooks DeBisschop with 20 points, six assists and seven rebounds. Bernie Andre had 14 points and six boards there, and Cameron Shelton had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Over on the Idaho State side, they’re 6-14 this year. The Bengals have lost six straight games, falling to Weber State, Portland State, Montana, Montana State, Northern Colorado and Southern Utah.
In the loss to the Thunderbirds, Idaho State’s Malik Porter posted 21 points with four rebounds and two assists. Also in double-digits there was Tarik Cool with 14 points, five assists and one rebound.
Idaho State is 2-6 ATS in the last eight Thursday games and 3-11-2 ATS in their last 16 home games. The Bengals are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 after an ATS win and the over is 7-0 in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Lumberjacks are 6-2 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss. Northern Arizona is 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games and the under is 8-3 in their last 11 Thursday games.
The last time these teams met, Idaho State took a 71-67 road victory that would be the last time the Lumberjacks would lose for another five games (and the last time the Bengals have won). Northern AZ put up some nice points totals in that time: at least 75 in three of five.
As for Idaho State they’ve put up some pretty good points totals in their last six but they’ve also given up quite a bit on the other side. I’m going to stick with the Lumberjacks to get some revenge in what should be a great matchup.
