The Loyola Ramblers and the Indiana State Sycamores meet in college basketball action from Hulman Center on Wednesday.
Loyola enters this one at 15-8 so far. After falling in consecutive games to Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois, the Ramblers got back in the win column over Bradley their last time out.
In the win over the Braves, Loyola’s Cameron Krutwig led the way on 19 points with seven rebounds. Tate Hall added 14 points with three rebounds and three assists there, and Keith Clemons had 10 points and three boards.
Over on the Indiana State side, they’re 13-8 this year. The Sycamores are riding a three-game winning streak, taking out Bradley, Drake and Missouri State in succession during that stretch.
In the win over the Bears, Indiana State’s Tyreke Key led the team with 27 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Barnes added 15 points and three assists there, and Cooper Neese chipped in 13 points.
Indiana State is 1-5 ATS in their last six Wednesday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. The Sycamores are 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and the under is 6-2 in their last eight overall.
Meanwhile, the Ramblers are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 road games. Loyola is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and the under is 13-3-1 in their last 17 overall.
Loyola is more comfortable in lower-scoring games this year, as they’ve been under 65 points in five of their last six games—and they’re 4-2 during that time. The Ramblers can do that since they’re adept at defending comparable teams and holding the scoring in check.
The last time these teams met was a 75-55 home blowout by Loyola, and though I like Indiana State to play better here, I don’t think they’ll crack the Ramblers’ shell. I’m going Loyola.
