The UC-Riverside Highlanders and the CSU-Fullerton Titans meet in Big Sky conference college basketball action from Titan Gym on Wednesday night.
The UC-Riverside Highlanders will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last four games following a 77-69 win over Long Beach State last time out. Dominick Pickett led the Highlanders with 20 points on 7 of 8 shooting with 4 threes and 6 rebounds while Dikymbe Martin added 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting with a pair of threes. Angus McWilliam and Arinze Chidom each had 11 points to finish off the scoring in double figures for UC-Riverside in the win with McWilliam adding a team-high 9 rebounds. Chidom leads UC-Riverside in scoring and rebounding with an average of 11.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while Khyber Kabellis leads UC-Riverside in assists with 3.3 assists per game this season. As a team, UC-Riverside is averaging 66.9 points per game on 44.3% shooting from the field, 35.5% from behind the arc and 68.7% from the foul line this season.
The CSU-Fullerton Titans will look to rebound from a 91-61 loss to UC-Irvine last time out. Jackson Rowe and Brandon Kamga each had a team-high 18 points with Rowe adding a team-high 6 rebounds and 3 assists while Kamga shot 7 of 15 from the floor with a pair of threes. Davon Clare added 13 points to finish off the trio of double-digit scorers for the Titans in the losing effort. Rowe leads the Titans in scoring and rebounding with an average of 15.3 points and 7 rebounds per game while Austin Aqosika leads the Titans in assists with 4 assists per game this season. As a team, CSU-Fullerton is averaging 66.7 points per game on 42.6% shooting from the field, 44.1% from 3-point range and 67.2% shooting from the foul line this season.
UC-Riverside is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite. CSU-Fullerton is 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 home games and 5-22 ATS in their last 27 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. The road team is 21-6 ATS in the last 27 meetings between these two teams.
The point with a home dog can be tempting, but the problem is that the Titans haven’t been playing well at home this year, going 3-6 SU and 1-6 ATS. UC-Riverside isn’t a team I’m trying to consistently back on the road, but the Highlanders are still one of the nation’s better defensive units and I just see UC-Riverside shutting down Fullerton here, so I’ll lay the point with UC-Riverside on the road here.
Chris’s Pick UC-Riverside -1
