The Xavier Musketeers and the DePaul Blue Demons meet in college basketball action from Wintrust Arena on Tuesday.
The Musketeers enter this game with a 14-8 record overall. Xavier is 2-2 in their last four games, falling to Creighton and Marquette while otherwise beating Georgetown and Seton Hall.
In the win over the Pirates, Xavier’s Naji Marshall and Tyrique Jones each posted 19 points. Both players had a double-double there as well; Marshall had 10 rebounds and four assists, and Jones had 18 rebounds and one assist.
Over on the DePaul side, they’re 13-9 this year. The Blue Demons have lost their last four straight games to Creighton, St. John’s, Seton Hall and Marquette in succession.
In the loss to the Eagles, DePaul’s Charlie Moore led the way on 21 points with eight assists and six rebounds. Both Jaylen Butz and Paul Reed scored 14 points apiece, combining for 11 rebounds and three assists.
The Demons are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss. The over is 5-2 in DePaul’s last seven home games and 9-3 in their last 12 Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Musketeers are 0-7 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. Xavier is 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five after an ATS win.
Xavier’s road win over Seton Hall was pretty epic, and it showcased what the Musketeers are capable of when they’re firing on all proverbial cylinders. Aside from that, Xavier has been pretty inconsistent lately, especially when it comes to offense.
As for DePaul, they’ve got some nice outings under their belts as well but have only surpassed 68 points once in the last four games. If Xavier is on here, I don’t think the Demons can keep up. I’m going Musketeers.
