The Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks and the Delaware State Hornets meet in college basketball action from Memorial Hall Dover on Monday.
MD Eastern Shore enters this game at 2-19 overall. The Hawks have lost their last five straight games, dropping to NC A&T, NC Central, Norfolk State, SC State and Morgan State in that time.
In the loss to the Bears, Maryland Eastern Shore’s only double-digit scorer was Da’Shawn Phillip with 14 points, two rebounds and two assists. Bryan Urrutia added eight rebounds with five points and two assists in that one as well.
Over on the Delaware State side, they’re 3-17 this year. The Hornets are 2-3 in their last five games, falling to NC A&T, NC Central and NC A&T again alongside wins over NC Central and Coppin State.
In the win over the Eagles, Delaware State’s top scorer was Johquin Wiley with 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Myles Carter added 17 points there, and John Crosby had 14 points with seven assists.
The under is 6-1 in the Hornets’ last seven overall and they’re 5-2 ATS in their last seven Monday games. Delaware State is 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their last five Monday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. MDES is 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 after an ATS win and the under is 35-17-2 in their last 54 road games.
During this five-game losing streak, the Hawks haven’t scored more than 64 points in any game. As a matter of fact, they’ve only scored more than 53 points during one game in that span. The MD Eastern Shore offense just isn’t working.
As for Delaware State, they’re not the greatest scorers either, but they’ve managed 77 in two of their last four games. There’s not a lot to like about this game honestly, but I think Delaware State is the better option.
