The Prairie View A&M Panthers and the Alabama A&M Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from Elmore Gymnasium on Monday.
Prairie View enters this game at 10-11 so far. The Panthers were on a four-game win streak, taking out Grambling State, Jackson State, AR-Pine Bluff and MS Valley before falling to Alabama State.
In the loss to the Hornets, Prairie View A&M’s Darius Williams put up 15 points with two rebounds. Also in double-figures for the Panthers there was Jonathan Jackson with 10 points and four rebounds.
Over on the Bulldogs’ side, they’re 5-14 this year. The Bulldogs have lost their last five straight games, dropping to MS Valley, Alabama State, Alcorn State, Southern U and TX Southern in that time.
In the loss to the Tigers, Alabama A&M’s Evan Wiley posted 22 points with nine rebounds, and Garrett Hicks posted 16 points there. Cameron Alford added 14 points, and Cameron Tucker had 10 assists.
The Bulldogs are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall. Alabama A&M is 15-4 in their last 19 after an ATS loss and the under is 8-1 in their last nine overall.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five Monday games and 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 overall. Prairie View A&M is 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and the under is 5-2 in their last seven overall.
Well, the Panthers were on a pretty good four-game roll, posting 74 or more points in two of those games and even hanging 102 on MS Valley. Prairie View A&M slowed down in their last game however, with just 49 points against a not-so-good Hornets team.
As for Alabama A&M, they managed 73 versus Texas Southern, but hadn’t hit above 70 since December 20 prior to that. There’s not a ton to like here, but the safer play to me seems like Prairie View A&M.
Andrew’s Pick Prairie View A&M Panthers -7
