The 24th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions have won three games in a row and improved to 15-5 (5-4 Big Ten) on the season after beating the Indiana Hoosiers, 64-49, this past Wednesday. Penn State was tied with Indiana at halftime at 28-28 but behind a solid offensive second half the Nittany Lions were able to pull away after taking a 48-35 lead with 8:27 left in regulation. Penn State shot only shot 37.5% from the field, but were able to force 17 turnovers from the Hoosiers and held them to a dismal 18.2% shooting from beyond the arc in the win. Leading the way for the Nittany Lions was Lamar Stevens who had 17 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and a block.
On the season, Penn State is averaging 77.0 ppg on 39% shooting from the field. The Nittany Lions are averaging 7.8 three-pointers per game on 31.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Penn State has been led by Lamar Stevens (16.7 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.2 apg) Myreon Jones (13.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.8 apg) and Mike Watkins (9.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 2.9 bpg).
Defensively, Penn State is holding their opponents to an average of 66.7 ppg on 39% shooting from the field. The Nittany Lions have a rebound margin of 1.2 and a turnover margin of 2.9.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers lost their 6th straight game and dropped to 7-14 (2-8 Big Ten) on the season after being defeated by the Michigan Wolverines, 79-68, this past Tuesday. Nebraska went into the half down 40-35 and although the Cornhuskers battled through the majority of the second half, couldn’t fight back after the Wolverines took a 69-55 advantage with 6:34 remaining in regulation. Nebraska allowed Michigan to shoot 50% from the field and was outrebounded by the Wolverines by a 41-27 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Cornhuskers was Cam Mack who netted 19 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds and a steal.

Defensively, Nebraska is allowing their opponents to score an average of 75.4 ppg on 43.4% shooting from the field. The Cornhuskers have a rebound margin of -10.3 and a turnover margin of 3.0.
The Nittany Lions are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win and 19-9-3 ATS in their last 31 games overall. The Cornhuskers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
Penn State comes into this game ranked 55th in scoring offense, 34th in defensive FG%, 26th in steals per game, and 39th in turnover margin.
Nebraska has been decent on the offensive end as they rank 157th in scoring offense & 67th in three-pointers made per game, however, it’s been a real struggle defensively for the Cornhuskers as they currently rank just 304th in scoring defense.
Penn State is a great team, however, the Nittany Lions haven’t had much action on the road this season and come into this game with just a 2-3 road record. Nebraska struggles defensively and might come into this game on a 6-game losing streak, however, the Cornhuskers do have a quality win at home against Iowa this season and as I think their offense will be able to do some damage on their home court against the Nittany Lions, I’m taking Nebraska and the points in this one. Good Luck!
