The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks and the Morehead State Eagles meet in college basketball action from Ellis Johnson Arena on Saturday.
Tennessee-Martin enters this one at 6-14 so far. The Skyhawks are 1-5 in their last six games, beating SIUE while otherwise falling to Belmont, Murray State, Austin Peay, EIU and Eastern Kentucky in that time.
In the loss to the Colonels, Tennessee-Martin’s lead scorer was Quintin Dove, with 35 points, nine rebounds and one assist. Parker Stewart added 18 points with eight rebounds there, and Miles Thomas had 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Over on the Morehead State side, they’re 10-12 this year. After a four-game losing streak versus Tennessee State, Belmont, Tennessee Tech and JSU the Eagles won Thursday versus SEMO.
In the win over the Redhawks, Morehead State’s Jordan Walker and Djimon Henson each had 21 points, and the duo combined for four assists and 13 rebounds. Tyzhaun Claude added 15 points and four rebounds there as well.
The Eagles are 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall. Morehead State is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 versus a team with a losing straight-up record and the under is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Skyhawks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up loss. TN-Martin is 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and the over is 8-1 in their last nine Saturday games.
The good news for Tennessee-Martin is that they’re scoring well lately, with 79 or more in each of their last four games. The bad news is that they’ve lost three of those games, giving up at least 92 points in each of that trio.
With Morehead State coming off a 90-point showing against the (admittedly not-so-good) Redhawks, they’re in prime position here to put up another good offensive outing. I’m going with the Eagles on the cover in this one.
