The Weber State Wildcats and the Southern Utah Thunderbirds meet in college basketball action from Centrum Arena Utah on Thursday.
Weber State sits at 7-13 this year. The Wildcats are 2-2 in their last four games, falling to Montana State and Portland State while otherwise beating Idaho State and Montana in that time.
In the win over the Grizzlies, Weber State’s Jerrick Harding led the team with 32 points, four rebounds and three assists. Cody John added 19 points there, and Michal Kozak doubled up on 18 points and 10 boards.
Over on the Southern Utah side, they’re 12-7 so far. The Thunderbirds are also 2-2 in their last four, falling to Northern AZ and Eastern Washington while otherwise beating Sac State and Idaho.
In the win over the Vandals, Southern Utah’s Cameron Oluyitan led the team with 15 points, three rebounds and one assist. Andre Adams doubled up there with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Maizen Fausett had 13 points with eight boards.
The Thunderbirds are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Southern Utah is 1-5 ATS in their last six at home versus a team with a losing road record and the over is 39-18-1 in their last 58 at home versus a team with a losing road record.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 road games and 0-7 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up win. Weber State is 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 overall and the over is 4-1 in the last five overall.
Weber State has been pretty spotty on offense this year, but lately they’ve been better. The Wildcats have put up at least 76 points in three of their last four games, with the lone outlier being a 62-61 loss to Montana State.
Southern Utah has been on quite a scoring tear themselves, with at least 71 in five straight games. This one could get interesting, but ultimately I like the Thunderbirds to take charge here and cover.
