The Idaho State Bengals and the Northern Colorado Bears meet in college basketball action from Bank of Colorado Arena on Thursday.
Idaho State sits at 6-12 this year. The Bengals are riding a four-game losing streak right now, dropping to Weber State, Portland State, Montana and Montana State during that time.
In the loss to the Bobcats, Idaho State’s Austin Smellie led the team with 12 points and two rebounds. The only other Idaho State player in double-digits there was Chidi Udengwu with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Over on the Bears’ side, they’re 12-7 so far. The Bears are just 1-2 in the last three games, with a win over Idaho sandwiched between losses to Northern Arizona and Eastern Washington in that time.
In the OT loss to the Eagles, Northern Colorado’s Jonah Radebaugh led the way with 17 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Kur Jockuch posted 16 points and six boards there, and Trent Harris had 15 points and five rebounds.
The Bears are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Thursday games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up loss. Northern Colorado is 19-7 ATS in their last 26 after an ATS loss and the under is 4-1 in the last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Thursday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. Idaho State is 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games and the over is 5-0 in the last five overall.
Idaho State has had a few legitimate shots at wins during this four-game losing streak. The Bengals fell to Weber State by eight, Portland State by six and Montana by just three, so they’re not getting blown out and they’re still scoring pretty well.
As for Northern Colorado, they’ve been a little iffy at times when it comes to putting up points, but on the whole they’re doing pretty well. I like Idaho State to put up a good fight here, but I’m still going with the Bears on the cover.
