The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Texas A&M Aggies meet in college basketball action from Reed Arena on Saturday afternoon as part of the SEC/Big 12 challenge.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys will be out to snap a six-game losing streak after an 89-82 loss to Iowa State last time out. Lindy Waters III and Thomas Dziagwa each had a team-high 14 points with Dizagwa added 5 threes while Waters III hit 3 triples. Jonathan Laurent added 13 points while Cameron McGriff, Avery Anderson III and Isaac Likekele each had 12 points to finish off the scoring in double figures for Oklahoma State in the losing effort with McGriff adding a team-high 9 rebounds while Anderson III had 4 steals and Likekele had 5 rebounds with a team-high 6 assists and 3 steals. Waters III leads Oklahoma State in scoring with an average of 12.1 points per game while McGriff leads the Cowboys in rebounding with 6.7 rebounds per game and Likekele leads Oklahoma State in assists with 4.2 assists per game this season. As a team, Oklahoma State is averaging 67.2 points per game on 40.6% shooting from the field, 30.5% from behind the arc and 71.7% from the foul line this season.
The Texas A&M Aggies will look to build on a 66-64 win over Missouri in their last outing. Savion Flagg and Josh Nebo each had a team-high 14 points with Flagg logging a team-high 6 rebounds while Nebo shot 5 of 6 while pulling in 5 boards. Emanuel Miller added 12 points to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for A&M in the winning effort. Nebo leads the Aggies in scoring and rebounding with an average of 12.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while Flagg leads Texas A&M in assists with 2.4 helpers per game this season. As a team, Texas A&M is averaging 61.1 points per game on 40.2% shooting from the field, 25.9% from behind the arc and 67.2% from the foul line this season.
Oklahoma State is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 9-3 in their last 12 Saturday games. Texas A&M is 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games while the under is 9-2 in their last 11 games following a win. The home team is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.
This could be an interesting spot for the Cowboys as Oklahoma State showed some offensive firepower against Iowa State, but in the end, the Cowboys still fell short and failed to cover which has become a theme lately as the Cowboys haven’t covered in any of their last six games which coincides with their losing streak. Texas A&M isn’t dominant by any stretch, but the Aggies have been winning games as of late which is more than we can say for Oklahoma State, who has been averaging just 59 points per game in their last 5, and that includes the 82 points against Iowa State. Oklahoma State is on auto-fade for me right now, so I’ll side with Texas A&M here.
