The Citadel Bulldogs and the Chattanooga Mocs meet in college basketball action from McKenzie Arena on Wednesday.
The Citadel sits at 6-11 so far. The Bulldogs have lost their last six straight games, falling to NC State, Samford, WCU, Wofford, UNCG and VMI in succession during that span of outings.
In the loss to the Keydets, the Citadel’s Kaiden Rice led the team on 17 points, and Eddie Davis had 14 points with eight rebounds. Kaelon Harris doubled up there on 12 points and 10 rebounds also.
Over on the Chattanooga side, they’re 12-7 this year. The Mocs are 2-2 in their last four games, beating Samford and Wofford while otherwise falling to Furman and UNCG in that time.
In the loss to the Spartans, Ramon Vila was the lead scorer for the Mocs, posting 15 points and five rebounds. David Jean-Baptiste was also in double-figures there with 10 points and three rebounds.
The Mocs are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss. The under is 14-6 in Chattanooga’s last 20 overall and 9-4 in their last 13 Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 Wednesday games. The Citadel is 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and the under is 4-1-1 in their last six Wednesday games.
The Citadel has been scoring pretty well during this six-game losing streak, with at least 68 points in five of the six games. Trouble is, the Bulldogs have allowed at least 73 points in five of the six, though a couple of the losses have been close ones.
In any case, Chattanooga posted just 52 points versus UNCG, but otherwise their offense has been decent. This should be another close game—and probably a high-scoring one. I like the Mocs to win but I think the Bulldogs can get in there.
