The St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers and the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers meet in college basketball action from Knott Arena on Monday.
St. Francis BK enters this game at 8-9 so far. After three straight losses to Robert Morris, St. Francis PA and LIU, the Terriers got back in the win column versus Wagner their last time out.
In the win over the Seahawks, St. Francis BK’s Chauncey Hawkins led the team on 20 points with three assists and two rebounds. Unique McLean doubled up on 18 points and 12 rebounds there, and Deniz Celen had 12 points and six boards.
Over on the Mount St. Mary’s side, they’re 7-11 so far. The Mountaineers are 3-1 in their last four games, falling to Merrimack while otherwise beating LIU, Bryant and Central CT State.
In the win over the Devils, Mount St. Mary’s top scorer was Jalen Gibbs with 20 points and three rebounds. Malik Jefferson added 17 points with 11 rebounds and three assists there, and Damian Chong Qui had 13 points with six assists and five rebounds.
The Mountaineers are 7-16 ATS in their last 23 versus a team with a losing straight-up record and the over is 4-0 in their last four overall. The under is 4-0 in Mount St. Mary’s last four after a straight-up win of more than 20 points and they’re 4-10 ATS i nether last 14 home games versus a team with a losing road record.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 road games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win. St. Francis BK is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and the under is 5-1 in their last six overall.
The Terriers had a couple of outright dud games in their three-game losing streak—namely 52 points versus Robert Morris in a 26-point loss—but otherwise they’ve been competitive and playing reasonably well.
Mount St. Mary’s has had their share of ugly outings as well, but they seem to be scoring better lately. I’m going to stick with the Mountaineers on the cover here.
