The Central Connecticut Blue Devils and the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights meet in college basketball action from Rothman Center on Monday.
Central Connecticut enters this one at 1-18 on the season. Since their lone win December 29, the Devils have lost to Robert Morris, St. Francis PA, LIU, Merrimack, Sacred Heart and Mt. St. Mary’s in succession.
In the loss to the Mountaineers, Central Connecticut’s only double-digit scorer was Jamir Reed with 12 points, two rebounds and one assist. Greg Outlaw added nine points and three rebounds there as well.
Over on the Fairleigh Dickinson side, they’re 3-13 so far. After taking out Bryant, the Knights have lost their last three games to Sacred Heart, LIU and St. Francis PA.
In the loss to the Flash, Fairleigh Dickinson’s Kaleb Bishop put up 22 points with 12 rebounds and two assists. Jahlil Jenkins added 15 points and eight assists there, and Marc Dadika had 13 points.
The over is 5-1 in the Knights’ last six Monday games and they’re 2-9 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up loss. Fairleigh Dickinson is 2-5 ATS in their last seven Monday games and 0-5 ATS in their last five home games.
Meanwhile, the over is 5-2 in the Devils’ last seven overall and they’re 6-14 ATS in the last 20 after a straight-up loss. Central CT State is 5-1 ATS in the last six road games and 8-22-1 ATS in their last 31 overall.
There’s no getting around the fact that Central Connecticut is a bad team, and they haven’t really even been close in any of their recent losses. The Devils have scored no more than 55 in any of their last three games either.
As for the Knights, They’ve been losing lately, but they’ve been scoring pretty well doing it. Fairleigh Dickinson has at least 70 in each of their last four games. There’s not much to like here, but I have to stick with the Knights on the cover.
