The Oklahoma Sooners and the Baylor Bears meet in college basketball action from Ferrell Center on Monday.
Oklahoma enters this one at 12-5 so far. After dropping consecutive games versus Iowa State and Kansas, the Sooners got back in the win column their last time out with an 83-63 victory over TCU.
In the win over the Frogs, Oklahoma’s Brady Manek put up 31 points with nine rebounds. Austin Reaves added 14 points with five rebounds and five assists there, and Kristian Doolittle had 11 points with four boards and three assists.
Over on the Baylor side, they’re 15-1 this year. The Bears are on a 14-game winning streak, and they’ve taken out Texas Tech, Kansas, Iowa State and Oklahoma State in their last four outings.
In the win over the Cowboys, Baylor’s Freddie Gillespie and Jared Butler each scored 17 points, combining for five rebounds and six assists as well. Devonte Bandoo was also in double-digits there with 16 points.
Baylor is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five Monday games and 5-0 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win. The Bears are 5-0 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 4-1 in the last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Sooners are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five Monday games. Oklahoma is 2-8 ATS In the last 10 overall and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS win.
Oklahoma is a pretty formidable team this season, and normally they score pretty well. Even when the Sooners’ shots aren’t falling however, they’re still capable of clamping down on defense, as evidenced in the 53-52 win over UCF or the 66-61 win over Kansas State.
Baylor is really good at those lower-scoring affairs as well though, so Oklahoma will have their hands full. I like the Sooners to hang around here initially, but I think the Bears will be able to pull away and cover later in the game.
