The Syracuse Orange and the Virginia Tech Hokies meet in college basketball action from Cassell Coliseum on Saturday.
Syracuse is sitting at 10-7 so far. After consecutive losses to Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, the Orange have won their last two games versus Virginia and Boston College since.
In the win over the Eagles, Syracuse’s Buddy Boeheim posted 22 points with two rebounds and two assists. Elijah Hughes added 19 points, four rebounds and five assists there, and Marek Dolezaj doubled up on 10 points and 11 boards.
Over on the Virginia Tech side, they’re 13-4 so far. Since falling to Virginia, the Hokies have taken out Syracuse, NC State and Wake Forest in their last trio.
In the win over the Deacons, Virginia Tech’s top scorers were Landers Nolley and Tyrece Radford, each with 21 points. Radford added 13 rebounds there, and Jalen Cone chipped in 15 points.
The under is 7-2 in the Hokies’ last nine overall and 5-1 in their last six home games. Virginia Tech is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Orange are 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 road games. Syracuse is 3-9 ATS in the last 12 overall and 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 after an ATS win.
The last time these teams played was a 67-63 Virginia Tech win at Carrier Dome. The Orange blew a six-point halftime lead and were outscored by 10 in the second half. Since then Syracuse has looked better, and they managed to hang 76 on a decent Boston College team.
As for Virginia Tech, they’ve posted a combined 152 points over their last two outings and are looking pretty good lately. I’m going to go with the Hokies for another win/cover here.
