The Idaho State Bengals and the Portland State Vikings meet in college basketball action from Stott Center on Saturday.
Idaho State comes into this one at 6-9 so far. The Bengals are 1-3 in their last four games, taking out Northern Arizona while otherwise falling to Sacramento State, Southern Utah and Weber State in that stretch.
In the loss to the Wildcats, Idaho State’s Chier Maker led the team on 16 points with 11 rebounds. Tarik Coll had 11 points there, and both Coreyoun Rushin and Austin Smellie had 10 points and five rebounds apiece.
Over on the Portland State side, they’re 8-10 so far. The Vikings are 1-4 in their last five games, beating Montana State while otherwise falling to Southern Utah, Idaho, Eastern Washington and Montana.
In the loss to the Grizzlies, Portland State’s top scorer was Holland Woods with 18 points, three assists and two rebounds. Rashaad Goolsby bagged a double-double there as well with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Vikings are 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss and 36-17-4 ATS in their last 57 Saturday games. Portland State is 10-3 ATS in their last 13 home games and the over is 5-2 in their last seven home games.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and the under is 13-4 in their last 17 Saturday games. The over is 5-2 in Idaho State’s last seven after a straight-up loss and 8-3 in their last 11 versus a team with a losing straight-up record.
Portland State is a pretty decent scoring team this season; they hover around the 70-point mark and above more often than not. The Vikings get into issues when they falter on defense though, and they’ve coughed up 71 or more points to their opponents in each of their last five straight games.
Idaho State has a few good points totals recently, but on the whole they’re not stellar offensively. I’m going to go with Portland State posting a cover here, but there’s not a ton to be interested in.
