The Radford Highlanders and the USC Upstate Spartans meet in college basketball action from GB Hodge Center on Thursday.
Radford comes in here at 8-7 so far. The Highlanders are on a five-game winning streak right now, taking out Richmond, Central Penn, High Point, Gardner-Webb and Campbell in that time.
In the win over the Camels, Radford’s Carlik Jones led the way on 22 points with seven rebounds and two assists. Also in double-digits there was Travis Fields with 17 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Over on the USC Upstate side, they’re 7-9 this year. The Spartans are 5-1 in the last six games, falling to Charleston Southern while otherwise taking out SC State, Bob Jones University, VMI, Longwood and Hampton.
In the win over the Pirates, USC Upstate’s Everette Hammond posted 20 points with six rebounds, and Tommy Bruner had 16 points. Brandon Martin chipped in 11 points with seven boards there and Thomas Booker had 10 points.
The Spartans are 1-4 ATS in their last five Thursday games and 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. USC Upstate is 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall and the over is 4-0 in their last four Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Highlanders are 6-2 ATS in their last eight after an ATS loss and 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 after a straight-up win. The under is 7-3 in Radford’s last 10 road games and the over is 4-0 in their last four Thursday games.
Radford has had a couple of close calls during this winning streak, but on the whole they’re taking care of business. The Highlanders had a three-game run going with at least 73 in each outing, but they’ve only put up a combined 135 in their last pair.
As for USC Upstate, they’ve allowed quite a few points on defense lately, but they’re negating that with some nice offensive performances. I’m going with the Spartans to keep it rolling here and cover.
