The Hofstra Pride and the UNC Wilmington Seahawks meet in college basketball action from Trask Coliseum on Thursday.
Hofstra enters this one at 13-5 so far. Following their latest loss to William & Mary, the Pride have taken wins in their last two games versus Elon and Northeastern.
In the win over the Huskies, Hofstra’s Eli Pemberton led the way on 24 points with four rebounds. Desure Buie added 23 points there, and Isaac Kante doubled up on 15 points with 12 rebounds.
Over on the UNC Wilmington side, they’re 5-14 this year. The Seahawks are riding an ugly 11-game losing streak, and they’ve fallen to Drexel, JMU, Towson, William & Mary and Elon in their last five outings.
In the loss to Elon, UNC Wilmington’s Mike Okauru posted 15 points with six rebounds and one assist. Also in double-digits there was Jaylen Sims with 12 points, four rebounds and one assist. Imajae Dodd added 10 rebounds with seven points in that one also.
The over is 20-8 in the Seahawks’ last 28 Thursday games and the under is 5-1 in the last six home games. UNC Wilmington is 0-4 ATS in the last four home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Pride are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 Thursday games and 34-16-2 ATS in their last 52 road games. Hofstra is 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win and 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall.
Hofstra had a nice run going heading into the William & Mary game, but hit the wall there with an 88-61 loss. The Pride bounced back in their next two games however, and they’ve scored at least 74 in four of their last five overall.
As for UNCW, they haven’t passed 68 points since way back on December 21, a span of six games. I can’t find a lot of reasons not to take the Pride here.
