The Rice Owls and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from Thomas Assembly Center on Thursday.
Rice enters this one at 9-8 so far. After a four-game losing streak versus Sam Houston, Marshall, Western KY and Florida Atlantic, the Owls won their last game versus FIU on Saturday.
In the win over the Panthers, Rice’s lead scorer was Ako Adams with 19 points and three rebounds. Josh Parrish added 18 points there, and Drew Peterson doubled up on 13 points with 11 rebounds.
Over on the Louisiana Tech side, they’re 12-4 this year. The Bulldogs are 6-1 in their last seven, falling to UTSA while otherwise beating Louisiana, NC Central, SUNO, Southern Miss twice and UTEP.
In the win over the Miners, Louisiana Tech’s Amorie Archibald led the way on 14 points with four rebounds and three assists. Derric Jean added 13 points with five rebounds, and DaQuan Brace had 12 points there.
The under is 13-3 in the Bulldogs’ last 16 home games and 6-1 in their last seven overall. LA Tech is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 Thursday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Meanwhile, the Owls are 0-4 ATS in their last four Thursday games and 2-5 ATS in the last seven after a straight-up win. The under is 7-3 in Rice’s last 10 overall and 5-0 in their last five road games.
Rice had a few bad scoring outings during their losing streak, notching 61 points twice and 69 once, and they weren’t keyed in on defense either. The Owls posted 92 versus a good FIU team in their last outing though, so things are looking up.
As for Louisiana Tech, they’ve notched some nice points totals lately and can really light up the scoreboard when so motivated. This should be a pretty fun matchup, but I like Rice enough to get in there.
