The Tulsa Golden Hurricane and the East Carolina Pirates meet in college basketball action from Minges Coliseum on Wednesday.
Tulsa comes in here at 10-6 this year. The Hurricane are just 2-4 in their last six, with losses to Arkansas, CO State, Kansas State and Cincinnati, and wins over Temple and Houston otherwise.
In the win over the Cougars, Tulsa’s lead scorer was Darien Jackson with 19 points and three rebounds. Brandon Rachal added 18 points and six boards there, and Jeriah Horne had 10 points and six rebounds.
Over on the Pirates’ side, they’re 8-8 this year. The Pirates are 6-1 in their last seven, with a loss to Wichita State and wins over Campbell, MD Eastern, Charlotte, Eastern KY, South Florida and SMU otherwise.
In the win over the Mustangs, ECU’s Jayden Gardner led the way on 20 points and nine rebounds. Tristen Newton, Tremont Robinson-White and Tyrie Jackson each added 11 points in that one as well.
The Pirates are 1-6 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win. ECU is 4-1 in their last five overall and the under is 4-1 in the last five home games.
Meanwhile, the under is 14-4 in the Hurricane’s last 18 overall and 21-6 in their last 27 after an ATS win. Tulsa is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games versus a team with a winning home record and the under is 5-1 in their last six after a straight-up win.
Tulsa has been in something of a scoring slump over their last four games, only reaching 70 points once. Otherwise the Hurricane have been at 67 or below in the other trio, and put up just 44 points versus Cincinnati.
As for East Carolina, they’ve had some scoring duds here and there, but normally their offense does a pretty solid job putting up the points. ECU also managed a nice comeback win over SMU in their last outing. I’m going to stick with the Pirates on the cover in what should be an interesting game here.
