The Vermont Catamounts and the Binghamton Bearcats meet in college basketball action from Binghamton University Events Center on Wednesday.
Vermont enters this one at 11-6 so far. The Catamounts are 4-1 in their last five games, falling to Stony Brook while otherwise beating Lipscomb, GW, Dartmouth and UMBC in that stretch.
In the win over the Retrievers, Vermont’s Everett Duncan topped the team on 15 points with six rebounds. Stef Smith added 14 points with four rebounds there, and Anthony Lamb had 12 points and seven boards.
Over on the Binghamton side, they’re 7-9 this year. The Bearcats are 2-2 in their last four games, beating Hartwick and UMBC while falling to Albany and UMass Lowell otherwise.
In the loss to the River Hawks, Binghamton’s lead scorers were Pierre Starr, Brenton Mills and Richard Caldwell, who each scored 14 points. That trio combined for four assists and 19 rebounds there as well.
The under is 3-1-1 in the Bearcats’ last five overall and the over is 5-1 in their last six home games. Binghamton is 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 5-1 ATS in the last six home games.
Meanwhile, the Catamounts are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 Wednesday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games. Vermont is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 5-1 in their last six versus a team with a losing straight-up record.
Outside of a close 81-77 loss to Stony Brook (who are a good team), the Catamounts have looked really solid over the last five games. In their four wins in that time, Vermont has put up at least 74 points in each outing and allowed no more than 68.
As for Binghamton, they had a nice outing versus UMBC but otherwise haven’t made much noise lately. I can’t find too many reasons not to take Vermont here.
