The Kansas Jayhawks and the Oklahoma Sooners meet in Big 12 conference college basketball action from the Lloyd Noble Center on Tuesday night.
The Kansas Jayhawks will look to rebound from a 67-55 loss to Baylor in their last outing. Isaiah Moss led the Jayhawks with 15 points while Marcus Garrett added 11 points with a team-high 4 assists as the only other double-digit scorer for Kansas in the defeat. Udoka Azubuike added 6 points and a team-high 11 rebounds with 7 blocks. Devon Dotson added 9 points with 3 assists but still leads Kansas in scoring and assists with an average of 18 points and 4.4 assists per game while Azubuike leads the Jayhawks in rebounding with 8.9 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Kansas is averaging 77.8 points per game on 50.3% shooting from the field, 36.2% from behind the arc and 66.1% from the foul line this season.
The Oklahoma Sooners will look to bounce back after an 81-68 loss to Iowa State last time out. Brady Manek led the Sooners with 17 points on 6 of 7 shooting with 5 threes while Kristian Doolittle added 14 points with a team-high 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Austin Reaves added 12 points with 5 rebounds and a pair of steals while Devion Harmon added 11 points and Jamal Bieniemy chipped in 10 points to round out the scoring in double figures in the losing effort. Doolittle leads Oklahoma in scoring and rebounding with an average of 17.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while Bieniemy leads the Sooners in assists with 2.7 assists per game this season. As a team, Oklahoma is averaging 74 points per game on 43.1% shooting from the field, 31.8% from behind the arc and 76.9% from the foul line this season.
Kansas is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 5-13 ATS in their last 18 road games while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games as a road favorite. Oklahoma is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record. The underdog is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.
The points with Oklahoma as a home dog are tempting, but the problem is that Oklahoma hasn’t been very good ATS, like at all for much of the season, especially at home where the Sooners are just 1-5 ATS. Kansas is outscoring teams by 14 points per game on the road this season and are allowing just 58.7 points per game against away from home and you’d have to think that the Jayhawks will look to bounce back and are slightly ticked off after being humbled at home by Baylor. I’ll lay the points with Kansas in this one.
