The Richmond Spiders and the Davidson Wildcats meet in college basketball action from Belk Arena on Tuesday.
Richmond enters this game at 12-4 so far. The Spiders are just 2-3 in their last five games, beating Saint Joseph’s and Rhode Island while falling to Radford, Alabama and Saint Louis in that time.
In the loss to the Billikens, Richmond’s Nick Sherod was the team’s lead scorer with 17 points and five rebounds. Blake Francis added 14 points there, and Grant Golden chipped in 10 points with five rebounds.
Over on the Davidson side, they’re 7-8 this year. The Wildcats put up three straight losses versus Vanderbilt, Duquesne and Rhode Island before taking out Saint Joseph’s in their last game.
In the win over the Hawks, Davidson’s Jon Axel Gudmundsson posted 30 points with 10 rebounds and three assists. Luka Brajkovic added 17 points with eight rebounds, and Kellan Grady managed 14 points.
The under is 9-4 in the Wildcats’ last 13 home games and they’re 29-12-1 ATS in their last 42 Tuesday games. Davidson is 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Spiders are 1-5 ATS in their last six Tuesday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. The under is 12-2 in Richmond’s last 14 overall and 4-1 in their last five road games.
Richmond kept up well with the Billikens during the first half in their loss, but were drilled 43-27 in the second. That makes four games out of their last six where the Spiders have scored less than 70 points.
Davidson has been pretty spotty on offense themselves, with just 64 versus Duquesne and 58 versus Rhode Island. If both teams come in here and play to their capabilities this should be a great matchup, though. I’m going Richmond but staying away.
