The George Washington Colonials dropped to 1-3 on the season after being defeated by the UMBC Retrievers, 92-81, this past Monday. George Washington had no answers on the defensive end against the Retrievers and could not fight back after UMBC took a 57-32 lead with 17:20 left in regulation. George Washington shot 42.4% from the field and 47.6% from beyond the arc while allowing UMBC to shoot 62.5% from the field and 47.6% from beyond the arc. George Washington was outrebounded by UMBC by a 34-31 margin and committed 14 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for the Colonials was James Bishop who had 20 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, & 2 steals.

Defensively, George Washington is allowing their opponents to average 80.2 ppg on 44.0% shooting from the field. The Colonials have a rebound margin of 2.2 and a turnover margin of -2.8.

The Delaware Blue Hens dropped to 1-1 on the season after being defeated by the UMBC Retrievers, 76-61, this past Tuesday. Delaware struggled on both ends of the court against UMBC and could not fight back after a 5-0 run gave UMBC a 65-50 lead with 5:25 left in regulation. Delaware shot just 37.0% from the field and 26.1% from beyond the arc while allowing UMBC to shoot 53.1% from the field. Defensively, Delaware is allowing their opponents to average 76.0 ppg on 43.8% shooting from the field. The Blue Hens have a rebound margin of -4.0 and a turnover margin of -1.5.

The Colonials are 1-7 ATS in their last 7 games and 2-11 ATS in their last 13 Friday games. The Blue Hens are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games, however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 December games.

George Washington is currently in rebuilding mode and although there have been some positives, especially with the duo of James Bishop & Jamison Battle, this is a team that is going to struggle this season and hasn’t shown much in losses to Navy, Hampton, and UMBC. Delaware struggled against UMBC, however, I think that was more due to shaking off the rust and as they have a great duo of their own in Kevin Anderson & Ryan Allen, I think the Blue Hens will be able to pick up the victory at home and cover this small spread. Good Luck!
