In this article we will formulate a Lions vs Argonauts prediction for this CFL game on Saturday, October 3rd at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this CFL matchup.

BC Lions Betting Preview

The BC Lions are 8-6 this year after they defeated the Roughriders by a score of 31-24 last week. BC led 17-13 at halftime and they added 14 points in the second half to seal the win. The Lions out gained Saskatchewan by a total of 439-383, went 9-16 on second downs, and won the turnover battle by a total of 1-0 in the game. Rourke threw for 375 yards and four touchdowns, while McInnis caught three passes for 111 yards. Rourke also led the ground game with 37 yards on three carries in the win.

Prior to that game, BC defeated the Alouettes by a score of 48-29 and lost to the Alouettes by a score of 37-30, and they are currently second in the West Division. The Lions have scored 30.6 points per game with 326.3 passing yards and 117.6 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 27.2 points against per game this season. Nathan Rourke has thrown for 3,851 yards with 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this year.

Toronto Argonauts Betting Preview

The Toronto Argonauts are 9-6 this season after they defeated the Blue Bombers by a score of 30-28 last week. Toronto trailed 21-14 at halftime and 28-24 in the fourth quarter, but they scored the last six points to steal the win. The Argonauts were out gained by a total of 385-349, went 8-19 on second downs, and tied the turnover battle at two in the game. Kelly threw for 290 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, while Coxie caught seven passes for 149 yards and one score. Hicks rushed five times for 41 yards in the game.

Prior to that win, Toronto defeated the Elks by a score of 24-19 and the Redblacks by a score of 26-23, and they are currently second in the East Division. The Argonauts have scored 29.7 points per game with 354.5 passing yards and 75.2 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 28.7 points against per game this season. Chad Kelly has thrown for 5,067 yards with 33 touchdowns and 24 interceptions this season.

Lions vs Argonauts Prediction

Toronto comes into this matchup on a four game winning streak and they continue to play great defense during that span. The Argonauts have allowed 28 or fewer in five straight games, which helps to offset Kelly’s interceptions. BC has won four of their last five games and their defense has also stepped up in recent weeks. The Lions also have a solid QB with Nathan Rourke, but he takes care of the ball much better than Kelly. Chad Kelly is not expected to play in this game due to injury, so I will take BC to cover here.

David Racey's Pick: Lions -3.5
