Toronto Argonauts Betting Preview

The Toronto Argonauts are 4-4 this season after they defeated the Stampeders 33-30 last week. Toronto led 19-17 at halftime, but they were tied 30-30 with 2:58 left, before winning on a field goal with 12 seconds left. The Argonauts out gained Calgary by a total of 440-249, went 13-24 on second downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 5-3 in the game. Chad Kelly threw for 349 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions, while Damonte Coxie caught eight passes for 161 yards. Samuel Hicks rushed five times for 54 yards and one score in the win.

Prior to that game, Toronto defeated the Lions by a score of 26-12 and lost to the Tiger-Cats by a score of 24-23, and they are currently second in the East Division. The Argonauts have scored 31.6 points per game with 363.1 passing yards and 84.0 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 31.1 points against per game on defense. Chad Kelly has thrown for 2,672 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, while Damonte Coxie has 42 catches for 685 yards and two touchdowns. Samuel Hicks has rushed 60 times for 373 yards and three scores this season.

Edmonton Elks Betting Preview

The Edmonton Elks are 6-3 this year after they lost to the Alouettes by a score of 48-30 last week. Edmonton trailed 24-17 at halftime and they allowed 24 more points in the second half in the loss. The Elks were out gained by a total of 481-407, went 13-21 on second downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 4-2 in the game. Cody Fajardo threw for 231 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while Austin Mack caught nine passes for 110 yards and one touchdown. Justin Rankin rushed seven times for 62 yards in the game.

Prior to that loss, Edmonton lost to the Roughriders by a score of 28-26, but did defeat the Roughriders by a score of 36-34 before that, and they are currently second in the West Division. The Elks have scored 28.8 points per game with 318.1 passing yards and 103.7 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 27.6 points against per game this season. Cody Fajardo has thrown for 2,808 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions, while Austin Mack has 47 receptions for 766 yards and six scores. Justin Rankin has rushed 101 times for 651 yards and seven touchdowns this year.

Argonauts vs Elks Prediction

Toronto comes into this matchup on a two game winning streak, but they have lost three of their last four road games. The Argonauts have allowed 30+ points in three of their last five games and the offense has been hit or miss. Edmonton has lost two in a row and they have allowed 34+ points in three of their last five, including 48 last week. The Elks are the better team on both sides of the ball and I like them to cover here.

David Racey's Pick: Elks -3.5
