The Wyoming Cowboys and the Colorado State Rams meet in week 1 college football action from Canvas Stadium on Saturday. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Wyoming Cowboys vs. Colorado State Rams Prediction.
Wyoming Cowboys Recap
The Wyoming Cowboys come into the 2026 season looking to shake off their 2025 season where they went just 4-8 overall including a 2-6 mark in Mountain West conference play. The Cowboys bring in Tyler Hughes from William & Mary to lead the QB room after posting a 20-3 TD-INT ratio last season while also rushing for another 11 TDs. On defense, just 4 of the top 13 tacklers are back with Ethan Stuhlstaz back at linebacker and Jones Thomas back in the secondary for the Cowboys.
Colorado State Rams Team Preview
The Colorado State Rams will look for a much different finish to 2026 after going just 2-10 in 2025, which led to the Rams hiring Jim Mora Jr as head coach. This is a borderline restart for Colorado State with Hauss Hejny coing in from OK State and TCU stops and Ksaan Farrar to battle for reps at QB1. The challenge for Colorado State defensively, will be making up for the loss of 7 of the 8 top tacklers from last year’s team, but this is still looking like a solid defensive front for the squad from Fort Collins in 2026.

Wyoming Cowboys vs. Colorado State Rams Prediction
I’m on the under in this one. There’s a lot of unknowns within both of these teams, especially at quarterback, so I think this is a game where possession and clock control is everything. I look for both of these teams to try to instill a ground game and hold on to the ball as long as they can and I am expecting a 21-17 kind of game, so I’ll roll with the under in this one.
