A summary that ties it all together and produces a favorable betting outcome for the Washington State vs Colorado State game.

Washington State is Suddenly Struggling

Washington State won the first two games of the season, including a win against San Diego State, but since that point they have lost two straight games. Two games ago against North Texas, they lost 59-10 and in the last game against Washington, they ended up getting knocked off 59-24. The defense is clearly an issue, and getting some stops early in this game will end up being a key. Against Washington, they ended up losing 59-24. Demond Williams threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns against them. Under center for Washington State is Zevi Eckhaus and he completed 25 of his 36 passes for 277 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Washington State is averaging 20.75 points while their defense is giving up 35.25 points per game. The offense is ranked 108th while the defense is ranked 126th. If they want a chance in this game, they need to make more stops.

Why the Washington State Cougars will win

  • Colorado State has lost 10 of its last 11 games against opponents from the Pac-12 Conference.
  • Washington State has won each of its last four games against teams from Colorado.
  • Colorado State has failed to cover the spread in six of its last seven September games as a home favorite.
  • Washington State has covered the spread in three of its last four games against teams from Colorado.
  • Colorado State has lost the first half in four of its last five games against non-conference opponents.

Colorado State Fell Just Short

Colorado State fell just short in the last game against UTSA. The defense made the stops for the most part and they gave up only 17 points, but the offense only managed 16 points, and that led to the defeat. They need more from Brayde Fowler-Nicolosi who completed only 14 of his 25 passes for 176 yards. They need him to find the end zone a couple of times in this game. To find success. Lloyd Avant did have a strong game on the ground rushing for 96 yards, but he also couldn’t find the end zone.

Colorado State on the season, is averaging 19.33 points while their defense is giving up 24 points per game. The offense is ranked 117th while the defense is ranked 76th. Getting the offense out to a fast start is going to be key.

Why the Colorado State Rams will win

  • Colorado State has won each of its last 13 games as a favorite in Colorado.
  • Washington State has lost each of its last three road games against non-AP-ranked teams.
  • Colorado State has covered the spread in seven of its last eight games as a favorite against non-AP-ranked teams.
  • Washington State has failed to cover the spread in each of its last four road games against non-AP-ranked teams.

Washington State vs Colorado State Prediction

Is Colorado State the better team? Probably. Am I about to lay over a field goal with them here? Yeah I don’t think so. This Colorado State offense just isn’t all that talented and I don’t think they have the right guy under center. Colorado State is averaging 19.33 points, and although their defense isn’t bad, I just don’t see them scoring enough to pull away. Washington State is averaging over 20 points per game, and they are going to score enough to keep this one close. I wouldn’t be shocked if Washington State wins this game outright. Back Washington State against the spread.

Shane Mickle's Pick: Washington State +5.5
