I’ll lean toward Syracuse I suppose. The Orange are coming off a miserable outing versus Pittsburgh however, so they’ll need to shake off the loss. Syracuse mustered 327 total yards (321 passing) and 3.5 yards per play in that one, going 6-of-20 on third-down tries with five interceptions. The Panthers only needed 217 yards of offense (144 passing) and 13 first downs to post a dominant win.
As for Virginia Tech, last weekend they didn’t post the most dynamic offensive effort with 233 total yards (99 rushing), 3.8 yards per play, and 11 first downs. The 2-of-15 result on third-down tries was pretty rough as well. The Hokies get credit for gutting out the win, but this weekend will be another tricky one if the Orange can regain their form. I like a good matchup here with Syracuse covering (and maybe winning) in the end.
