TN-Martin Skyhawks Betting Preview
The Skyhawks kicked off their 2026 campaign with a matchup versus Central Arkansas. TN-Martin was down by just two points at the break in that one but ended up losing 36-24. Game two versus Chicago State went better for TN-Martin, though. The Skyhawks scored 21 points in both the second and fourth quarters for a 42-7 victory that evened up their record.
In last weekend’s matchup versus West Virginia, the Skyhawks fell behind early by giving up 21 points in the first quarter. TN-Martin finally got on the board with a TD in the fourth but by then it was way too late in a 52-7 blowout defeat. QB Tate Surber was 19-of-28 for 137 yards and a pick, while leading rusher Chris Franklin had 12 carries for 85 yards in the loss.
Memphis Tigers Betting Preview
Over on the Memphis side, they’ve got three games in the bag so far this year as well. The Tigers kicked off the season with a 27-21 win over UNLV, notching 17 points in the third quarter during the road victory. Memphis kept it going in game two versus Arkansas State, cruising to a dominant 42-24 win thanks in part to 21 points in the second quarter (and 14 more in the third).
Matched up against Boise State last Saturday the Tigers were in pretty decent shape at halftime, sporting a 20-17 edge. Unfortunately Memphis was outscored 21-0 the rest of the way and ended up with a 38-20 loss. QB Marcus Stokes was 17-of-25 for 384 yards with one TD and an interception. Jaylin Carter led the rush with 95 yards on nine carries.

TN-Martin vs Memphis Prediction
I’ll probably just stick with Memphis. The Tigers need a good bounce-back effort after the loss to Boise State and this is a good spot to get it. In that loss to the Broncos, Memphis notched 519 total yards (384 passing) but only held the ball for 20:04 and went an ugly 1-of-8 on third downs. The defense gave up 578 yards (357 rushing) on the other side with 7.7 yards per play and 28 first downs.
As for TN-Martin, they had a couple turnovers and a tepid 170 passing yards in their loss to West Virginia. The Skyhawks gave up 525 total yards with 316 rush yards and 8.3 yards per play on the other side. Still, that was just about what we expected from that lopsided road matchup. This one won’t be very easy either.
