South Florida Bulls Betting Preview

This year South Florida kicked off their campaign with a matchup against Boise State on August 28. The Bulls fell behind 7-0 early on in that one, then scored double-digit points in each of the final three quarters for a 34-7 victory in the end. QB Byrum Brown threw for 210 yards on a 16-of-24 line, and Locklan Hewlett chucked a 45-yard TD as his only pass. Alvon Isaac led the rush on three totes for 52 yards, but Brown did most of the scoring on 14 carries for 43 yards and two touchdowns. Cartevious Norton chipped in 15 yards with a rush score, and Chas Nimrod had three catches for 96 yards. Keshaun Singleton added five grabs for 93 yards and a TD of his own in the big win.

In game two versus Florida last weekend, the Bulls were up 15-9 by the end of the third quarter and ended up pulling off a stellar road upset 18-16. Brown threw for 263 yards and a score while also leading the rush with 17 carries for 66 yards.

Miami Hurricanes Betting Preview

Over on the Hurricanes’ side, they opened up the 2025 season with a tricky matchup against a good Notre Dame squad. Miami went into the fourth quarter with a 21-7 lead but had to hang on after a 17-6 barrage in a 27-24 victory. QB Carson Beck was 20-of-31 for 205 yards and a pair of scores. Topping the rush was Mark Fletcher with 66 yards on 15 carries, and CharMar Brown had 54 yards and a TD on 15 totes. Malachi Toney added six catches for 82 yards and a score, while CJ Daniels had five catches for 46 yards and a TD of his own.

In their second outing of the year versus Bethune-Cookman, Miami had a much easier time of things. The Hurricanes were up 28-3 by the end of the first half, scoring in every quarter on the way to a 45-3 blowout victory. Beck was 22-of-24 for 267 yards and two touchdowns this time, and Mark Fletcher carried 11 times for 86 yards and a pair of his own touchdowns. Toney had 80 yards receiving while Daniels had 73 yards and two scores.

South Florida vs Miami Prediction

I’ll stick with Miami. Odds are, the Hurricanes are looking at USF’s shocking upset last weekend and steeling themselves against a national embarrassment the weekend. Coming off a dominant effort versus Bethune-Cookman, that shouldn’t be hard to do. Miami posted 543 yards (344 passing), 8.2 yards per play, 31 first downs, no turnovers and a 4-of-6 success rate on third-down tries in that one. On defense Miami allowed just 191 yards (99 passing), 14 first downs and 1-of-11 on third-down tries. The Hurricanes mean business—especially against a lesser team.

As for South Florida, they’re coming off a wild upset in a sloppy game, providing nine of the 20 total penalties. The Bulls collected 391 yards on offense (263 passing) and their D stood tall on third downs (4-of-12) during the victory. USF has another tough matchup this weekend, and I don’t think they’ll be nearly as competitive.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Miami Hurricanes -16.5
