South Florida Bulls Betting Preview
Last year the Bulls managed to put together a pretty solid campaign, finishing 9-4 overall. USF’s 6-2 run in American Conference play put them behind only Tulane, North Texas and Navy among the standings. South Florida earned a trip to the Cure Bowl, where they lost to Old Dominion by a score of 24-10.
In their first action of the 2026 season, the Bulls played a game versus FIU. Things were tight until the final quarter, when South Florida rattled off 13 points for a 19-9 win. QB Michael Van Buren was 11-of-18 for 100 yards and Jason Collins added 17 carries for 59 yards. Arhmad Branch caught five balls for 47 yards as well.
Army Black Knights Betting Preview
Over on the Army side, they managed to stay above the .500 mark last year with a 7-6 run overall. The Black Knights went just 4-4 in American Conference play though, putting the team around the middle of the pack in the standings. Army did win the Fenway Bowl over UConn 41-16 to finish the year, however.
The Black Knights rolled in their first outing of the 2026 campaign. Army scored double-digit points in every quarter (including 21 in the first) during a 59-3 victory over Bryant. Zach Mundell led the rush with 105 yards and two scores off four carries, and QB Cale Hellums rushed seven times for 87 yards and two more touchdowns.

South Florida vs Army Prediction
I’ll stay with Army. The Black Knights pummeled Bryant into submission during their win last weekend, bagging 569 rush yards, 9.3 yards per play, 31 first downs, 6-of-9 on third-down tries and no turnovers. Army gave up just 165 yards on defense with 3.1 yards per play, nine first downs and 3-of-14 on third downs allowed. The Knights are going to rush, rush and rush some more this year—then maybe throw a pass or two.
As for South Florida, they didn’t get their offense going too well versus FIU, gaining just 208 yards, 3.7 yards per play and 14 first downs. The Bulls did get three takeaways on defense though, and held FIU to only 80 rush yards. Playing Army, however, will be another matter entirely.
