In their second game versus Howard over the weekend the Spiders jumped out to a 20-0 lead by the break then got outscored 21-8 the rest of the way in a tense 28-21 road win. QB Ashten Snelsire was 19-of-35 for 261 yards and three scores while Sean Clarke led the receivers with his seven catches for 80 yards and a touchdown.

North Carolina State Wolfpack Betting Preview

Over on the NC State side, they had a pretty good season in 2025. The Wolfpack went 8-5 overall with a 4-4 run in the Atlantic Coast Conference. NC State managed to finish around the middle of the pack in the ACC standings and earned a trip to the Gasparilla Bowl versus Memphis. NC State won that one 31-7 to finish the year on a good note.

Matched up against Virginia in their opener, the Wolfpack couldn’t find their footing. NC State gave up points in every quarter during a 34-8 blowout loss. QB CJ Bailey had 84 yards and a pick on 12-of-23 passing and also led the rush on 10 carries for 33 yards. Will Wilson did score a touchdown on six carries for 21 yards, though.

I’m going to try Richmond. The Spiders got out to an early lead then weren’t as effective in the second half. It was still a nice road win, though. Richmond’s defense allowed just 240 yards (109 passing), 14 first downs and 4-of-16 on third-down tries. The Spiders only notched 39 rush yards on offense however.

As for NC State, they couldn’t do much against Virginia in their opener loss. The Wolfpack gained just 168 yards (92 passing) alongside 3.3 yards per play, 10 first downs, two turnovers and 4-of-13 on third-down tries. The defense gave up 258 yards rushing on the other side and 6.1 yards per play but did well on third downs (3-of-14). NC State has a lot of time between games here though, and they’ll look better on Saturday.
