Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Betting Preview

The Cajuns got their 2025 campaign kicked off with a matchup versus Rice. Louisiana took a 14-6 deficit into the second half and couldn’t make the comeback in the end, falling 14-12. QB Walker Howard went 10-of-22 for 88 yards and an interception but did rush nine times for 47 yards and a touchdown. Bill Davis was the team’s leading contributor on the ground, logging 11 totes for 58 yards. Shelton Sampson topped a pretty rough receiving corps, catching four balls for 59 yards. He was the only player with multiple catches in the defeat.

In their second matchup of the season versus McNeese State last weekend, the Cajuns held a 17-10 lead going into the final quarter. Following 17 unanswered points, Louisiana eventually emerged victorious 34-10. QB Daniel Beale was 14-of-22 for 86 yards and a score, while Davis again led the rushers on 19 carries for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Zylan Perry had 14 totes for 95 yards and Steven Blanco scored a touchdown of his own. topping a pretty slim receiving day was KeDarius Wade with his lone 19-yard catch.

Missouri Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Missouri side, they opened up their season with a pretty routine matchup against Central Arkansas. The Tigers scored double-digit points in each of the last three quarters, resulting in a blowout victory 61-6 in the end. Beau Pribula was 23-of-28 for 283 yards and two scores while also contributing 10 carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Ahmad Hardy was the team’s leading rusher with his 10 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown, and leading receiver Marquis Johnson had a great day for himself with five catches for 134 yards and a score.

Matched up against Kansas last weekend, Missouri was down 21-6 at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers rallied the rest of the way however, scoring in every period on the way to a 42-31 win. Pribula was 30-of-39 for 334 yards and three touchdowns. Roberts had 143 yards and a score rushing, while Hardy came up with 25 totes for 112 yards and another score.

Louisiana vs Missouri Prediction

I’ll go with Missouri. The Tigers did a nice job in their win over Kansas last weekend, holding the Jayhawks to just three rushing yards (226 total), 13 first downs, 3-of-11 on third downs and 19:33 in time of possession. The offense was quite well-balanced also, notching 595 total yards (334 passing), 28 first downs and 10-of-19 on third-down tries.

As for Louisiana, they were able to bag a decent win at home over McNeese State last weekend but it wasn’t necessarily pretty. The Cajuns were as one-sided as you can get, notching 315 rushing yards along the way. The defense ended up holding well though, giving up just 238 yards (191 passing), 14 first downs and a 4-of-12 rate on third-down tries along with a pair of takeaways. Missouri is going to mark a pretty big uptick in competition this weekend though, so I’m not excited about the Cajuns’ chances at hanging around.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Missouri Tigers -24.5
