Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Betting Preview
LA Tech has five games in the books so far this year, mustering a 4-1 record in that time. The lone loss came 23-7 versus LSU on September 6. Otherwise it was wins over Southeastern Louisiana 24-0, New Mexico State 49-14 and Southern Miss 30-20 in the first four outings. In the win over the Eagles, the Bulldogs gave up 514 total yards (392 passing) and went just 2-of-13 on third-down tries themselves but somehow managed to pull off the gritty victory.
In their latest outing versus UTEP on September 27, the Bulldogs held a modest 10-0 lead going into the fourth quarter. LA Tech hit a 20-11 run the rest of the way and pulled off the win in the end 30-11. QB Blake Baker finished 18-of-26 for 137 yards, one TD and one pick. Clay Thevenin rushed 19 times for 68 yards and a score of his own, while top receiver Marlion Jackson caught three balls for 44 yards in the victory effort.
Kennesaw State Owls Betting Preview
Over on the Kennesaw State side, they took losses in their first two games. The opener was a tight 10-9 defeat by Wake Forest, then came a 56-9 blowout versus Indiana in game two. Kennesaw State would finally get a win over Merrimack 27-13 in game three, then kept it going with a 28-21 win over Arkansas State on September 20. In that matchup the owls lost three fumbles on offense but the defense held the Red Wolves to just 4-of-15 on third downs along the way.
Matched up against Middle Tennessee in their most recent outing on September 27, the Owls scored 21 points in the first quarter. Kennesaw State wouldn’t reach the end zone again but still pulled off the victory 24-16. QB Amari Odom was 11-of-17 for 162 yards and a couple of scores while Coleman Bennett had 12 carries for 101 yards. Chase Belcher’s 53-yard touchdown catch put him atop the receivers in the victory.

Louisiana Tech vs Kennesaw State Prediction
I’ll lean toward LA Tech but I’m not touching this one. The Bulldogs offense looked pretty rough in their last game versus UTEP, posting just 232 yards (137 passing), 16 first downs, 3.4 yards per play, 4-of-14 on third-down tries and four turnovers. The saving grace was the Miners’ own offensive futility, which led to a whopping five interceptions. Had UTEP been able to muster any kind of showing on that side of the ball—minus the mistakes—it would have been a severely different outcome. In any case, LA Tech is at last scoring well these days with 30 or more points in three straight games.
As for the Owls, they didn’t look great on offense in their last outing either, logging just 1-of-8 on third downs in the eight-point win over Middle Tennessee. Kennesaw State has 24 or more points in three straight games themselves (all wins), so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a high total here.
