Lindenwood Lions Betting Preview

Lindenwood has four games in the can so far this year, with some mixed results among those. The Lions opened the year with a matchup on the road versus St. Thomas MN and walked away with a rough 35-13 loss to kick off the season. Game two was another loss for Lindenwood, this time 20-13 in a tough result on the road versus Appalachian State. On the bright side, the Lions would get their first win in the road matchup versus Charleston Southern, emerging victorious 35-28 in the end.

Matched up against Stony Brook on Saturday, the Lions managed to power out a tight 30-27 victory in the end. QB Nate Glantz finished 20-of-29 for 249 yards and a pair of scores while also leading the rushing attack on 13 carries for 104 yards and another TD. Jared Rhodes added 12 totes for 85 yards, and leading receiver Rico Bond caught eight balls for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Miami-Ohio RedHawks Betting Preview

Over on the Miami-OH side, they’ve only got three games in the books thus far. The first two were losses, beginning with a 17-0 shutout thanks to Wisconsin back on August 28. In game two versus Rutgers, things went even worse for the RedHawks. Miami-OH gave up 17 points in the second quarter and 14 more in the fourth on the way to a 45-17 defeat. The RedHawks’ 10 penalties didn’t help matters, nor did the 421 yards and 31 first downs surrendered by the defense during the loss.

In their last outing versus UNLV over the weekend, the RedHawks were cruising on a 24-10 lead after three quarters. Following a 31-14 deficit from there however, Miami-OH lost a tough one 41-38. QB Henry Hesson logged 134 yards, one score and one pick on 8-of-17 passing. Tops in rushing was Kenny Tracy with 16 totes for 104 yards, and Kamryn Perry had five catches for 122 yards.

Lindenwood vs Miami-OH Prediction

I’ll likely stay with Miami-OH but I’m probably not touching this one. The RedHawks are coming off an ugly loss last weekend. The offense gave up three turnovers alongside just 1-of-8 on third-down tries. On defense Miami-OH surrendered 513 yards (220 rushing), 5.9 yards per play, 31 first downs and 12-of-17 on third-down conversions. Even with all of those rough numbers in consideration, the RedHawks were still in position to win down the stretch. It was a rough finish that will take some time to digest, but this weekend’s matchup should be favorable enough to get Miami-OH back on track.

As for Lindenwood, they posted 465 yards (216 rushing), 6.7 yards per play and 20 first downs in their tight win over Stony Brook. The defense coughed up 317 passing yards (416 total) but also stood pretty strong on third downs with a 5-of-16 success rate. Lindenwood had a couple of scoring duds to start the season (13 points in each), but they’re looking better lately. The Lions have a combined 65 points in their last two games. This one could end up as a fairly hight total if that trend holds.
