The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the New Mexico State Aggies meet in week 8 college football action from Joe Aillet Stadium on Thursday night. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Louisiana Tech vs. New Mexico State prediction.

Louisiana Tech Recap

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs come into this one looking to build on their 48-21 win over Middle Tennessee last time out to improve to 2-3 on the year. After this game, LA Tech will head home for a matchup against the UTEP Miners.

Bulldogs Trying To Get Back To .500

Jack Turner has thrown for 412 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions on 53.3% passing while Blake Baker has thrown for 314 yards, a touchdown, and 3 INTs on 52.9% passing and Evan Bullock’s thrown for 557 yards and 6 touchdowns on 70.6% passing. Omiri Wiggins has a team-high 108 rushing yards to lead LA Tech’s ground attack while Tru Edwards has a team-high 23 grabs for 335 yards and 2 TDs. Marlon Jackson has 222 receiving yards while three more Bulldog receivers have 100+ receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Zach Zimos has a team-high 39 total tackles. Sifa Leota also has 2.5 sacks while Jayden Gray and Jessie Evans each had 2 sacks as well. As a unit, Louisiana Tech’s defense has combined for 12 sacks and 2 interceptions as well on the year.

New Mexico State Recap

The New Mexico State Aggies will be looking to snap their five-game losing streak, dropping to 1-5 on the year after a 54-13 loss to Jacksonville State last time out. After this game, NMSU will head back out on the road for a matchup with FIU.

Aggies Looking To Right The Ship

Parker Awad has thrown for 363 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 3 INTs on 40.8% passing while Santino Marucci has thrown for 292 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 picks on 44.9% passing. Seth McGowan leads the Aggies with 392 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns and Mike Washington has 273 rushing yards and 2 TDs as well on the year. PJ Johnson III has a team-high 156 receiving yards while TJ Pride has a team-high 16 receptions for 144 yards as well on the year. On defense, Tyler Martinez has a team-high 42 total tackles while Buddha Peleti has a team-high 2.5 sacks and Josiah Cox has a pair of interceptions as well for the Aggies’ defensive unit.

Louisiana Tech vs. New Mexico State Prediction

I’m on the Aggies with the points in this one. Don’t get me wrong, New Mexico State is not a good football team, but I think we’re still overreacting a bit to Louisiana Tech’s win over Middle Tennessee. I admit, I took the Blue Raiders, but the Blue Raiders are still the worst defense in the country in my eyes. New Mexico State isn’t great, but what they do better defensively is stop the pass, which is what Louisiana Tech wants to do, and did in droves against Middle Tennessee. New Mexico State at home has been a lot better than NMSU on the road, as the Aggies have lost by 10 and 6 at home to New Mexico and Liberty. LA Tech lost to FIU as a road favorite earlier this season and I just don’t know if I want to be laying a hefty number with them here. Give me New Mexico State and the points.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: New Mexico State +11
